A Texas-Sized 70th Celebration

To celebrate a milestone 70th birthday, we planned a Western-themed party that was all about big Texas hospitality and even bigger heart. With the guest of honor originally from Mexico and friends and family traveling in from near and far, the goal was to give everyone a true Texas experience—warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. Cocktail hour set the tone with a lively bluegrass trio and a wheelin’ and dealin’ magician wowing guests with close-up tricks.

Dinner was classic comfort done right—brisket, ribs, green beans, and creamy mac and cheese—followed by a touching moment as the guest of honor’s daughters shared a heartfelt speech. Everyone joined in to sing “Happy Birthday” as candles were blown out atop an old-fashioned apple pie. The celebration rolled on late into the night with a country band keeping the dance floor full, while guests snacked on sliders from a food truck and a spread of flavored popcorn. It was a joyful, boot-scootin’ celebration that perfectly blended Texas charm, family love, and a well-earned milestone.
